Cleanse, prepare, treat and hydrate: what each step is for, and what you can skip on a lazy morning.
Summer skin needs less than you think. Heat and humidity make heavy layers feel suffocating, and more products means more chances of irritation. Four steps cover nearly everything.
Morning
Rinse with water or a little of your evening cleanser, pat on a tonic, then a serum and a light cream. Finish with sunscreen, every day, whatever the forecast.
Evening
This is where cleansing matters: sunscreen is designed to stay put, so melt it off with a balm before anything else. Follow with your serum and, if your skin feels dry, a few drops of oil pressed in over the top.
On the laziest mornings, keep two steps: something to hydrate, and sunscreen.
